This project involved a
roof system replacement on twin towers along Chicago’s I-88 Tollway. A
multi-level parking structure surrounds this luxurious 10-story office
complex, making it impossible to access the building along the south
elevation. The weight of heavy equipment and fully loaded dump boxes would
have overloaded the limits of the parking structure, therefore we limited
the work area we used to the Northwest and Northeast corners of the
building. We designed a support and anchoring system for the debris chute
that provided good support for the chute, yet avoided contact with the
fragile pre-cast curtain wall. Installing a debris chute on a building
this tall requires special equipment and, more importantly, experienced
workers who know how the equipment is installed and reinforced. Clark
Roofing completed this major renovation project without disturbing
CarrAmerica's meticulously maintained grounds or daily business
operations.
