Clark Roofing
Windermere House Chicago, IL
This 100-year-old
Chicago Landmark building was sadly in need of a new roof system. Over the
years many different roofs were installed, but the old roofs were never
removed. We strongly recommended that the old roof system, a total of
6" of roofing and insulation, be torn off to insure that the new roof
system would achieve its life expectancy of approximately 20 years. The
problem was how to efficiently remove the old roofing at a reasonable
cost. When dealing with a building of this height, lowering small amounts
of debris to the ground via a hydraulic hoist many, many times is the only
option. Clark Roofing designed and installed a custom debris chute to
speed up the removal process. We used our long crane to aid in the
installation of the chute. The new roofing materials were lifted to the
roof top with a hydraulic hoist to insure that the crew installing the new
roof system always had the materials they needed to complete the project.
